Summertime is such a gorgeous time to have a photoshoot with the weather often being warm, dry and sunny. The background can look lovely in Summertime with the countryside being full of colour with the added bonus of the greenery being slightly more muted than in Spring meaning that it does not overpower your pictures. The lack of mud is also a huge bonus especially when it comes to keeping your horse or dog clean before your photoshoot. But one of my favourite things is the golden hour photoshoots!
What is golden hour?
Golden hour is the last hour before sunset and the first hour after sunrise when the sun is low in the sky and gives off light with a lovely golden glow. For most photoshoots clients choose to take advantage of the sunset, to avoid getting up extremely early.
Why is golden hour perfect for a photoshoot?
In golden hour the light is much softer due to the low angle of the sun. This causes the light to be diffused rather than shining directly on you. Which creates a softer more flattering light. Golden hour creates a much warmer light with yellow, orange and red hues which is extremely fattering!
